Taren Point Public School transformed into a French village market for a day this month.
Francophones and francophiles from all over Sydney - more than 5000 attended the annual La Belle Vie French market, which was organised by the school and Francophone Association of Southern Sydney.
People queued at the stalls to savour the french delicacies, scoured decor and French-inspired homewares ahead of Mother's Day.
The Citroen Car Club of NSW had a display of vintage and modern cars.
All proceeds will fund the school's French immersion program, which is in its third year.
School principal Trent Bridgland says he is dedicated to the establishment of the school as the hub of french education at primary school.
"We are extremely proud to become the third school in NSW and one of only 15 in Australia to become a member of the Australian Association of French-English Bilingual Schools," he said.
"Membership will strengthen our immersion program by giving us access to resources, professional learning and the support of a bilingual school network. It will also ensure our school and program is recognised by both our community and at a national level.
"We are pleased to be able to offer French in both Kindergarten and year 1 in 2019 and look forward to expanding the program to all year levels in the coming years.
"We are also fortunate to have a community partnership with the Francophone Association of Southern Sydney, which has been proactive in promoting and raising funds from local business sponsorships and events in support of the program."
