Australia's Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) will get behind this year's annual PAYCE Sutherland2Surf on Sunday, July 21.
The Lucas Heights based government organisation which specialises in researching lifesaving cancer treatments, will sponsor the Corporate Teams Challenge category, which has been popular in previous years amongst many businesses around the area.
Race director, Karen Byron, said the partnership between Wanda SLSC and ANSTO has a common thread with both organisations involved in protecting and saving lives.
"Wanda SLSC's lifesavers strive to protect and rescue beachgoers in the ocean while ANSTO's amazing work also saves lives, especially through its leading-edge cancer treatments," Ms Byron said.
"The club is honoured to have such a prestigious body associated with the event and for the opportunity to raise awareness across the shire of the outstanding work ANSTO does at its main campus in Lucas Heights."
The Sutherland2Surf - an annual winters tradition for the region sees participants run from Flora Street in Sutherland to Don Lucas Reserve next to Wanda Beach.
Close to 6000 entrants in the event either run or walk solo, or in a team, where many enter to fundraise for a cause of their choice.
