Sydney FC have appointed a fan development officer to the St George district, with one expected to follow for the Sutherland Shire by the end of the year.
The development officers will oversee the club's programs with each association and build relationships at a club level within each region, with links to Sydney FC elite pathways.
They will also help the development of junior players in a bid to attract more fans for the club's A-League and W-League teams.
Billy Kirk has been appointed to the role in St George, with Enzo Sansone (South Coast) and Taylor Cahill (North Sydney) also chosen.
The trio are expected to be joined by another three officers representing Sutherland as well as City and East and Inner West by the end of the year to give the club a year-round presence in the community.
Sydney FC CEO Danny Townsend said the club had a strong focus on their football community.
"This expansion will allow us to further foster our relationships on a daily basis," he said.
"We've nurtured a number of young footballers at our successful holiday clinics and skills training programs already. These appointments will allow us to expand on that and provide us with the opportunity to deliver even more football programs to the grassroots which down the track will generate a new generation of Sky Blue fans for the club.
"We want our new stadium filled with Sky Blue members and this community program commitment will go a long way to fulfilling that."
