A new coffee club formed from Sutherland Shire Council's Lonliness Project is brewing with activity.
Residents older than 50 years of age are encouraged to join in the gathering of a new group called Cafe Cruz.
People meet weekly at 10.30am on a Tuesday at Bass and Flinders Café at Cronulla Central, next to Cronulla Library.
BeConnected Cronulla manager, Danielle Maciejwski, says the group is open to people who want to socialise.
"The idea of the new group will be that they will go 'cruz'ing' around different cafés in Sutherland Shire in the warmer months, enjoying a chat, some great company and good coffee along the way," she said.
The group bring residents together with community partners Gymea Community Aid and Information Service, Engadine Community Services, Carers Support Service, 3Bridges Community and Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation.
"We all have times when we feel lonely or isolated. At these times it is good to know that there are groups such as Café Cruz that can help connect you with others," Sutherland mayor Carmelo Pesce said.
