Cronulla will explore the possibility of having a 'Back to Shark Park Day' should they decide to temporarily relocate.
The club's board will meet tonight to consider an expected recommendation to close the leagues club for nearly two years during redevelopment of the site.
The board will also look at options for moving games from PointsBet Stadium for two seasons.
Netstrata Jubilee Stadium at Kogarah - the traditional home of local rivals St George Illawarra - is understood to be the preferred option for playing the bulk of Cronulla's home games for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
The Sharks are also keen to explore options to take games interstate as other clubs have done for a number of seasons.
The Dragons entered a two-year deal with the Mid-Western Regional Council ahead of the 2018 season with the club playing their traditional Charity Shield clash with South Sydney at Mudgee the last two years.
St George Illawarra have also played NRL games against Canberra and Newcastle at the Glenn Willow Regional Stadium in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
NRL games have also been played in Darwin, Adelaide, Perth and Christchurch in recent seasons.
But playing a handful of games at Woolooware while the construction is underway is also still a possibility, with a 'Back to Shark Park Day' already discussed.
Whatever the club decide to do they would be at the mercy of the NRL to sign off on any plan due to potential safety issues given the area around the ground would still be a work site. There would also be extremely limited parking available.
The Sharks would also be dependent on the NRL draw to share Kogarah as a home ground with the Dragons, fit potential interstate games into their schedule and work around the progress of the building works to find suitable dates to return to Shark Park during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Cronulla have four home games remaining at Woolooware this campaign, starting with top-four bound South Sydney on Saturday night.
The Sharks then play three afternoon matches in a row at PointsBet Stadium from round 22 against St George Illawarra, New Zealand Warriors and Canberra.
There is the potential that if the recommendation to move away from the shire temporarily is accepted and a 'Back to Shark Park Day' is unfeasible, Cronulla's final four games of this season could be the last chance the club's fans have to cheer on their team in the shire until 2022.
