Olivia Peach is bringing a little soft love to nursing homes to help elderly people connect to their childhoods.
The plush dolls - some vintage porcelain, will hopefully put a smile on many faces.
The Sutherland Shire mum is collecting pre-loved dolls to distribute to aged care centres. She also had some donated from family support organisation, Dandelion.
"I have been so overwhelmed by other families - mostly mums, offering their goods but also willing to help me collect the dolls," she said.
"One lady has willingly also knitted beanies for the dolls. Another who had held onto her daughter's doll for years donated it. It had the original stamping, and would probably be worth a fortune."
Mrs Peach says the dolls will support elderly people who suffer from dementia and Alzheimer's.
"It can take them back to their childhood memories, which is often what they retreat to," she said.
"They also benefit from children visiting so I'd like to take my kids to one drop-off."
It was all sparked from a Facebook video Mrs Peach happened to see, about a charitable organisation that ran the same drive overseas.
"I was sitting beside my son and he saw the dolls and asked me why the older people are playing with dolls," she said.
"I explained that when we give away stuff we don't need anymore, it makes other people happy. I had been also going through my kids' toys that they've moved on from."
She has also spread the word to her childrens' daycare, which has jumped on board to help Mrs Peach launch the drive.
"As a mum of three little ones, I also wanted to do something that would be of interest to them too, to teach them the notion of giving back and helping others in need," she said.
