Cronulla's beachside hangout Northies is spicing up St George and Sutherland Shire this August with the return of their infamous, month-long smokin' fiesta 'Chilli Fest'.
Chilli Fest runs from August 1 to 30 and sees the sizzling little peppers making their way in to fiery dishes, zany cocktails and an almighty chilli-eating competition every Sunday for those with a little wild streak!
Northies launched its wicked-hot specials menu this week including Jalapeno Poppers, a scorching hot Chilli-Chicken Burger, Death Wings or the Chilli-Roulette pizza - a thrilling sharer for groups mates feeling daring ...or crazy...o ne or the other!
To complement any dish is the 'Death Wagon' - a cart stocked with 30 of the hottest sauces known to man. Diners are warned to approach the Death Wagon with caution ... these sauce are not for the faint-hearted, one even comes in a coffin!
Things are heating up in liquid form behind the bar too as Northies has a selection of chilli-infused vodkas to warm the blood and tingle the senses.
The resident mixologist has created a list of special cocktails, theChilli-Choc Espresso Martini or a good old fashioned, the Bloodiest Mary but with a twist - you choose the Scoville rating (the measurement of how spicy the chilli is).
Northies has also partnered up with Young Henrys Brewing to bring you the ultimate wash-down for a fired-up chilli-mouth, the Rockefella Gose, available exclusively for the month of August.
The pinnacle of Northies' Chilli Fest is its Chilli Eating Competition held every Sunday in August from 2pm in Old Joes. Entry is free and everyone is invited to get their chilli-face on. Either enter the competition or watch from the sidelines as contestants battle for the Chilli-Fiend Crown.
The Sunday events will feature an illustrious host from Sydney's hilarious Phly Crew, live artists, DJs and good times with prizes for all participants.
