Explore the meadows, pine forests, fairytale castles and soaring rock towers along the northern edges of the Czech Republic on foot, during a six-night, self-guided walking tour offered by On Foot Holidays.
The inn-to-inn "Bohemian Paradise" trail traverses natural labyrinths of rock towers, tranquil lakes and meadows and takes you past medieval and gothic castles as well as historic farmhouses and quaint villages.
It also offers walkers the chance to sample local wines, herbal liqueur and beer, for which the republic is famed.
Other highlights of the journey include a visit to the Museum of the Bohemian Paradise in Turnov and a climb up to a tiny octagonal chapel in the village of Vysker.
Along the way, guests will stay in friendly, family-run hotels and a baroque chateau in the Bohemian mountains.
The walk is described as being easy-to-medium in difficulty, with four to seven hours of walking each day. Luggage transfer is taken care of, meaning walkers simply carry a day pack with the bare necessities.
Cost, including six nights' accommodation, all breakfasts, and all luggage transfers, is from £535 per person, twin-share (approximately A$948 depending on exchange rates), if booked by September 30, 2019. This secures a walk in 2020 at 2019 rates. Walkers can nominate their own walk dates between April and October.
Payments can be made by via Earthport FX transfer, a system which offers Australians the convenience of paying for walks in Australian dollars at a local bank, saving transfer charges and credit card fees.
