Once the RMS introduces a toll on the currently free M5 East then Stoney Creek, King Georges and Canterbury roads will carry more traffic than they do now.
The introduction of a toll on the M4 proved motorists abandoned the toll road and used Parramatta Road instead and nothing will be different once the WestConnex opens next year.
In order to cater for this extra traffic RMS now intends to extend clearway hours on King Georges, Stoney Creek and Forest roads.
If both sides of government were serious about improving traffic flow they would not charge a toll on what is currently a free road or at least have a cash back scheme for private motorists.
Instead they wish to force businesses to shut down and make roads going past schools, bus stops, railway stations and shops even more dangerous.
How has this been allowed to happen and how are workers expected to be able to afford these extra tolls?
What are our local politicians and councils doing to rectify this situation before it is too late?
