It's shaping up as another big month of laughs at the Oatley Hotel with eight comedians lined-up for Wisecracker Wednesday nights.

Christian Elderfield is a UK comedian whose punchy storytelling has seen him reach the finals of many UK comedy competition finals, including an appearance on Britain's Got Talent, where he received a resounding yes from the four judges and an "I actually found you very funny" from the notoriously difficult to please Simon Cowell!

Having grown up in a small English village, and discovering his parents were cousins, Christian decided to move away before the marriage proposals from family members started rolling in.

Now based in Sydney, Christian has swiftly become a regular on the comedy club and cruise ship circuit since receiving rave reviews from his debut Australian comedy festival season.

His stand up is a mix of wonderfully punchy storytelling, clever observations and a happy-go-lucky stage persona and this has got him through to many UK comedy competition finals including Comedy Cafe's New act of the Year, Bath New Act of the Year, The London Comedy Store's King Gong and the Golden Jester.

Christian is back by request at the Oatley Hotel on September 4 along with Martin Henchion.

This month's double-headliner gala at Oatley on September 11 brings two stellar acts to provide the laughter.

UK-based Aussie Wayne Deakin has performed at the world's most prestigious comedy clubs - from New York's Caroline's to London's Jongleurs to the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. He will be accompanied on the night by Comedy Central's Jen Carnovale who won the Sydney Comedy Festival Best Newcomer prize.

On September 18 Khaled Khalafalla (Upper Middle Bogan, Just For Laughs) and Aurelia St Claire from Germany will keep the laughs coming

Footy Show regular Steve Philp was one of a handful of Aussies selected to be flown to the finals of NBC's Last Comic Standing in Miami. He tours the country with comedians such as Carl Barron, Adam Hills and Arj Barker. Philp is back at Oatley on September 25.
