Drop-in sessions, where residents can have their say about the council's proposed long-term vision for Sutherland Shire, will take place next week, starting on September 16.
Sessions will be held at Menai Marketplace, Southgate Shopping Centre and Cronulla mall, and will be followed by a community expo at Sutherland Entertainment Centre and workshops.
The community consultation is being carried out on the council's draft Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS), which sets the direction for land use planning in the shire over the next 20 years.

The proposed strategy, which will feed into the next local environmental plan (LEP), has been placed on public exhibition for feedback.
Residents will be able to voice their views through drop-in sessions, workshops, an on-line survey, a community expo and workshops up until October 25.
Mayor Carmelo Pesce said the state government directed planning across NSW and each council was required to prepare a LSPS to align local plans and priorities with the state's strategic planning framework.
"Planning for the future must be consistent with the Greater Sydney Commission's South District Plan, and we want to work together with our community to ensure our long term vision for land use planning in Sutherland Shire also reflects what we want to achieve through our Community Strategic Plan," he said.
Cr Pesce said land use planning was extremely important.
It would impact the whole community and would inform the next LEP, which would set out what type of development was allowed, and where.
Cr Pesce said the draft LSPS was based around four key themes; Infrastructure and Collaboration, Liveability, Productivity, and Sustainability.
"Within each of these key themes, council has developed priorities it will work towards over the next 20 years," he said.
"These priorities aim to balance the state government's planning priorities with the outcomes our community has identified as important in the Community Strategic Plan."
