The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was dispatched off the coast of Royal National Park, where the group was rescued after their vessel flipped on Saturday, September 21.
The call for assistance came in shortly after 1pm.
The 36-foot catamaran overturned about two nautical miles south east of Wattamolla Beach, leaving the boaties clinging to the hull.
Marine Rescue NSW was on hand to save the six people, who were winched to safety in difficult conditions.
The Enigma Sailing crew, which was mid-race en route to Wollongong, also stopped to offer assistance.
