I agree that it is lazy and disgusting how people leave their dog poo along the Esplanade at Cronulla. I have a dog that I walk regularly along the waterfront. We always take our bags to clean up after our dog.
Unfortunately not everyone does this. It would be a good idea if the council would install bag dispensers at the parks along the Esplanade, for those who forget to take their own. Fine those people who don't clean up after their dogs to pay for the bags and dispensers.

Following on from recent comments in these pages regarding dog poo on the Esplanade, I think I really need to raise the concern that dogs that are not on leashes are a massive issue.
I totally understand the owners love and trust their dogs, but me as a walker/runner don't know the dog, don't like dogs, and don't want a dog running loose while I'm running.
It might consider me a target and chase me.
I fear the owner of the dog not on a leash wouldn't like me taking defensive action against a stray dog heading straight for me.
