A Sylvania man will be charged with 47 additional charges as part of ongoing investigations into allegations of historical sexual assaults at a swimming school at Padstow.
Former swimming instructor Paul Frost, 43, son of Ian Thorpe's former coach Doug Frost, was arrested on September 18 by detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command under Strike Force Colbran accused of assaulting two students at his father's business, The Doug Frost Swim School, between 1997 and 2003 in Padstow.
The former swim teacher is now expected to face an additional 47 grooming, aggravated indecent assault and aggravated sexual assault charges when he faces Sutherland court on Thursday.
Police will allege in court that Paul Frost groomed and sexually abused a further nine boys on multiple occasions between 1997 and 2009.
The boys, who police say were all students of the former swim coach, were aged between eight and 16 at the time of the assaults.
Police say Mr Frost was working at the Doug Frost Swim School part-time at the time of the assaults before the swim school was deregistered in 2012.
It's alleged Mr Frost was the boys' swimming coach at the time of the incidents.
He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today.
Investigations are ongoing.
Detective Superintendent Murray Reynolds from Bankstown Police said last week the alleged offences took place before and after school during squad training sessions.
"The victims have provided police with detailed statements which have been thoroughly investigated by detectives," Det Supt Reynolds said.
"There was a grooming element to this. These children were young members of a swim squad who were somewhat under the control of this person.
"There are more than two victims in these (alleged) offences."
