The A-League and W-League as well as Socceroos and Matildas matches will be shown on ABC television for the next two years.
Football Federation Australia announced on Friday that the ABC would become their free-to-air broadcast partner for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.
It will be the first time A-League matches have been shown on ABC. W-League matches return to the channel with ABC having been the inaugural broadcaster of the competition from 2008 to 2017.
Two of Sydney FC's home A-League matches set down for Netstrata Jubilee Stadium have had their kick-off times changed due to the new arrangement.
The Sky Blues' round six clash with Melbourne Victory and round 12 fixture against Melbourne City will now be played at 5pm and 6.30pm respectively.
Sydney FC will play 10 of their 13 home A-League matches at Kogarah this season, making Netstrata Jubilee Stadium their major temporary home ground.
ABC will show 29 A-League matches live on television and iview platforms at 5pm on Saturdays. They will also show delayed broadcasts of finals series matches and the grand final.
ABC will also broadcast 14 rounds of the W-League at 4pm on Sundays and the entire finals series live.
All Socceroos matches to which Fox Sports carries rights will also be shown on ABC along with the Matildas' upcoming friendlies with Chile and the women's Olympic football qualifiers next year.
FFA head of leagues Greg O'Rourke said they were excited to have ABC on board.
"As a result we have had to adjust a number of the kick-off times on Saturday and Sunday matches to accommodate their needs," O'Rourke said.
"To ensure minimal impact for fans and other stakeholders we did not move the day of any games and only adjusted kick off times and many of those by only 15 minutes.
"These amended times will also allow for ABC to broadcast one Westfield W-League match on Sunday afternoons as either part of a double header or as a stand-alone match optimising the scheduling across both leagues.
"We look forward to expanding our broadcast reach with another exciting edition of the Hyundai A-League."
ABC director of regional and local, Judith Whelan, said the agreement to screen A-League, W-League, Socceroo and Matildas games was significant for the ABC and would form the cornerstone of the corporation's sports coverage over the next two years.
"We are thrilled to welcome Australian football into the ABC family," Whelan said.
"The ABC has unrivalled reach into every corner of Australia and we will be using that reach to help build the profile of football. We plan to use all our platforms to drive audiences to our coverage on ABC TV."
Whelan said the ABC was particularly pleased to welcome back the W-League after an absence of two years.
"We have always been a big supporter of women's sport in this country and will use every means possible to build the biggest audience we can for the W-League."
