Sutherland police have arrested a 38-year-old Kemps Creek man following the theft of a container from Heathcote Oval.
The container, one of two used by the Bosco Braves Baseball Club to store baseball and softball equipment as well as maintenance tools, was stolen last Tuesday night.
Police allege the man used a tow truck to steal the container, which was about six metres long.
He has been charged with larceny, cultivating a prohibited drug and disposing of stolen property.
Police said some items had been recovered.
The club, run by volunteers, will look to end their week on a more positive note when they host their Back to Bosco Braves Baseball Day at East Heathcote on Saturday.
The event is in preparation for the club's 40th anniversary to be celebrated next year.
