St George and Sutherland Community College (SGSCC) has joined forces with Right Approach to advance inclusion of people with a disability throughout the organisation.
"To be inclusive in a meaningful way the interactions between workers and people with disabilities need to be respectful - from the first phone call right through to service provision," SGSCC disAbility Manager, Angela Rose said.
"The intervention designed by Right Approach was a huge success here at SGSCC, with increased reflection about inclusion challenging our already disability inclusive mindset which was enlightening. Staff reported changed perspectives and improved responses to clients with disabilities across the organisation".
"Solutions were tailored drawing from our relationship with diversity and inclusion experts from around the world," Director of Right Approach, Suzanne Arnold, said.
"We made it easy to change perception around diversity and inclusion to help change culture."
