Police have charged a doctor following allegations of inappropriate touching of a patient in Brighton-Le-Sands earlier this week.
On Tuesday, a 28-year-old man attended the home unit of a 53-year-old practising male doctor to follow up from a previous consultation.
While at the unit it is alleged the doctor inappropriately touched the man during the consultation.
The man left the doctor's residence and later reported the incident to police at Fairfield City Police Area Command.
The matter was referred to St George Police Area Command and yesterday, November 6, detectives attended the Queens Road, Brighten-Le-Sands unit where they arrested the doctor.
He was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent, and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
