Re the article "Riverwood's 'radical' plan condemned" (Leader, November 13).
The very notion that the 'radical plan' for Riverwood with 6000 apartments to be constructed by FACS would be halted due to Banks MP David Coleman's attempted intervention is ludicrous.
The entire idea has been 'set in stone' from long ago and with the Federal Member's persistence to initiate the process in utilising the Belmore Road East Side Ramps on the M5 to cater for extra residents and their vehicles, is in itself evidence of a 'hand shake' deal between Mr Coleman and the State Government.
Yes Riverwood residents, the suburb will be altered by overcrowding in the shopping centre, the train commute, the parking of more vehicles in a street near you but most of all, no sensible infrastructure in place to cope with the future demand of water and sewerage works and essential services such as another school and hospital facility nearby.
Politicians do not concern themselves with negative impacts to the community, as history illustrates to us, these public servants will only achieve results, if it were to interrupt their own personal lifestyles.
