Young Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club star Britney Pierce will be in action when the club host the fourth annual Tradies One Club Surf Carnival on February 1.
The event is expected to attract more than 1000 competitors from the Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter and Illawarra regions.
Carnival organiser Greg Allum said the carnival would bring together competitors of all ages.
"Many surf carnivals split junior and senior competition. Our Tradies One Club carnival allows nippers from under-8s to Masters athletes to compete alongside each other creating a great atmosphere," he said.
"We also have swim, wade, beach sprint and flags for under-8s to under-18s competitors with a disability.
"It's getting to the serious end of the season for surf sports, so we expect this carnival to be very popular and fiercely contested. It will provide a great hit out prior to the branch and state championships."
Local clubs Wanda, Elouera, North Cronulla and Cronulla will lead the charge for the coveted overall club point score trophy.
Wanda's Pierce, who made her debut on the Nutri-Grain Ironwoman series this season, will compete at the carnival.
The carnival will feature traditional beach, water, R&R and march past events as well as some innovative new events including the four person Gerard Malouf and Partners Open Mixed Ocean M Lifesaver Relay. The event starts with a 500m run leg followed by swim, board and ski legs. Teams are free to choose which gender, with teams made up of two male and two female athletes, completes which leg of the race.
The day will commence with the 2km beach runs and 2km downwind ski race into Wanda Beach, followed with the march past led by the St George-Sutherland Scottish Pipe Band.
Other key events include the open Ironman and Ironwoman races, the Marc Leabeater Cup open men's beach sprint, the open women's beach sprint, the open male and female surf races and the open male and female board races.
The carnival will also feature a fair with stalls from supporters including Audi Sutherland, Channel 9, Engine, Fitness First, Gerard Malouf and Partners, Hooded, Infront, Jolyn, Kozii, Ohana, Real Play (Voodoo Dry) and Slix.
