Sydney FC continued their record-breaking start to the season after a 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Friday, leaving them 13 points clear at the top of the ladder.
The Sky Blues now face cross-town rivals Western Sydney in the first Sydney Derby held at Jubilee Oval next Saturday night and hope to continue its winning streak, having now won 13 consecutive games at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
Sydney FC striker Adam Le Fondre says they're out for revenge when they host the Wanderers, their only defeat this season and thanked the Sky Blues supporters who were out in full force.
"They turned out in numbers again on a Friday night and to have a crowd like that was fantastic and it was obviously nice to send them home with the three points," he said.
Head Coach Steve Corica said they were still hurting that Western Sydney beat them in the first round because they dominated the game but couldn't score, so this week they are looking to put things right.
"You expect them to be up for it. It's a derby - they should be up for it, we should be up for it. It's going to be a great crowd and atmosphere here."
On Friday night the Sky Blues dominated possession, but a resolute and defensive Brisbane proved a challenge, leaving it even at the break.
Sydney FC continued to push in search of the breakthrough and was rewarded with a penalty in which Adam Le Fondre made no mistake from the spot, belting it past a helpless goalie to give Sydney FC the winning lead.
Coach Corica said he was pleased with another clean sheet and the team moves further forward.
Sydney FC's Foxtel Y-League side are also winners after their historic Grand Final win over rivals Melbourne Victory in the preview game on Friday.
They broke another record when they claimed their fourth youth league championship in the 33-year competition - the most of any other club.
The 5-1 win seals an undefeated season for the Young Sky Blues, who bring back a third piece of silverware for Sydney FC following the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League titles within the last year.
