Caringbah couple Nick and Yvette Wynne decided to set out on a 20,000 km Odyssey on matching Ducati motorcycles to check out the spiritual temperature of Australia.
Nick, an emergency doctor, and Yvette, an manager of a not-for-profit organisation felt the need to travel the backroads and hear the real stories of the remote outback.
They have turned their journey into a 12-part reality television series, Holy Rollin' Downunder which is now showing on the Australian Christian Channel (ACCTV).
"We decided to go and escape for a while and to do it by camping because you are really out there under the stars," Yvette said.
"Also we wanted to test the spiritual temperature of Australia and see what is going on. We didn't have anything organised. We just went. Nick would say I was the vision and he was the provision."
Yyette said the journey gave them many memorable experiences.
"We talked to indigenous communities and heard their stories. We visited a remote radio station that has a million listeners, some as far away as Indonesia.
"Driving down the coast of Western Australia we saw some spectacular scenery. But the best part was meeting ordinary Australians who are just doing it tough in the harsh landscape and extreme temperatures.
"One of the most memorable people we met was an indigenous lady in her 70s. She told me how her parents were killed when she was young and how she found God. She shared how she talks to her family about God and how this helps them.
"In some places there seems there's a big suicide problem because there is no hope or purpose.
"But overall, the spiritual temperature of Australia is quite good out there.
"God is on the airwaves, he's on the sea and he's in the people.
"People are kind and they have to rely on each other because life is tough out there. If you wanted to find God you would find Him."
Nick and Yvette are not aligned to any particular church.
"We are not preaching, just asking questions. There are atheists on the show. We ask them what they think and they say there is nothing there. We say, okay but can we pray for you anyway?"
High Rollin' Downunder screens on ACCTV every Friday at 7pm and is repeated on Sunday at 4.30am.
