Please, Scott Morrison, BAN the joggers from the Esplanade at Cronulla. They are the worst spreaders of the virus. They run along never caring how close they pass the walkers (most of us elderly) and puff out great breaths of air all over people without a care in the world. Today we were walking and a pack of five joggers passed my husband and one blew out a huge breath of air all over my husband as he ran past, my husband was so upset and all we were trying to do was get some exercise. Five minutes later, we passed neighbours and the lady said: "those joggers breathe all over you."
Joggers GET OFF THE ESPLANADE if your gym is closed don't infringe on poor people trying to walk go along the sand to Boat Harbour or something but get away from the walkers as you are so inconsiderate and don't even bother to run past at 1.5 metres. PM, please ban them they are the worst offenders.

Beach Closure at Cronulla
I want to share some sentiments of most users of the ocean about the decision of the Sutherland Shire Council to close the Bate Bay beaches at Cronulla. I understand that this decision was made following consultation with the NSW Police Force to reduce overcrowding at the beach.
Council should have consulted with its ratepayers and the residents at Cronulla before reaching its decision. The Council should have considered less drastic (and draconian) measures before prohibiting surfing and swimming at the beaches. There is no evidence to suggest that surfers breach social distancing rules when they are in the water.
If the Council was concerned about overcrowding in the car parks, it should have considered less oppressive options. These options could have included closing all car parks to limit the number of visitors from outside the area.
One may ask rhetorical, why was it necessary to close the beach at Cronulla but not at Silver Beach in Kurnell or at Gunnamatta Bay? Why was it necessary not to allow people to walk on the sand but to permit walking on the footpath? Why was a decision made to close certain parts of the footpath along the beach but not the entire pathway? Why are people allowed to exercise in the park but not use the ocean?
Perhaps close the beaches but allow access to the ocean?
I hope that this decision will be better thought out next time and hopefully never be repeated.

Cronulla
Private hospital objectors should now stop playing with human lives
As this nightmare coronavirus affects each and every one of us in different ways, we are all thankful to the wonderful medical staff and hospitals that are working the front line keeping us alive.
This makes it even more infuriating when you consider the opposition to the President Private Hospital application for refurbishment that was submitted a few months ago. Private hospitals are picking up all the non-coronavirus cases and are vital in the health of our communities.
The proposed new mental health ward at PPH would be an incredible asset in these anxious and uncertain local residents, the Shire historical society and certain Sutherland Shire councillors (refer council meeting minutes) decided to put bricks and mortar in the form of keeping a derelict house ahead of our hearts and lungs and the long term health of the majority.
Those historians, councillors and residents should hang their heads in shame for their part in delaying a much-needed community health facility. This crisis should teach us that we should ever let politics and self-interest win over the health needs of the majority.

Woronora Dam what could go wrong?
When 'strict conditions' have to be applied to a project to 'prevent' something going wrong, it is blatantly obvious that something could go wrong.
If something could go wrong and it involves Southern Sydney and Wollongong's Water Supply, then you just don't do it.
I'll repeat that: 'You Just Don't Do It'.
Mining under Woronora Dam is a classic 'No Brainer'.
Is this the last little bit of coal in the whole of N.S.W.?
What is going on here?
Come on Prime Minister. I know this is a State thing, but this is your water supply they are gambling with.
