Covid-19 might have sucked the life out of a lot of 2020, but it hasn't diminished the quality of the surf, with this Winter up there with the best of them.
Cronulla surfers have been spoiled with swell after swell this season with clean offshore's and now some great banks on the beach are helping to spread the 'work from home' crowd.
Monday's surprise 4-6ft south swell was the icing on the cake-it turned up with a strong westerly blowing the top off the solid peaks of the waves wrapping into Wanda.
The forecast sees this 3-5ft swell that was still hanging around yesterday and still pumping today slowly dying into a 1ft Friday with strong offshores-very reminiscent of last week's conditions.
Sunday it will all change again with a massive south swell due to pick up during the day-peaking at 10 ft in the afternoon-with some variable winds that should still see us be able to surf.
Monday looks the pick of still solid waves so that will keep all the big wave reef boys happy-with an 8ft 170 degree south swell and offshores early in the morning.
I took today's pics up the beach at a good left at Wanda on Monday afternoon and a few at North Cronulla and the Wall yesterday.
The rest of next week could also see some nice waves-so keep on keeping on!
In a very timely event this week its the 'Ride of the Year' winners are announced-this is the biggest award in the Big Wave division.
Out of all last seasons unbelievable big drops, barrels and rides, one male and female 'Ride of the Year' will be chosen.
The finale of the Red Bull Big Wave Awards chooses the heaviest waves from the biggest hitters in the sport.

Due to recent border closures and the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming Australian Open of Surfing series will no longer be an interstate tour for 2020 but rather individual events across Qld and NSW.
"Due to the uncertainty with border closures, the 2020 Australian Open Of Surfing will now be six stand-alone events in Qld and NSW open to all Australian surfers able to compete provided they are abiding by Government regulations," said Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden.
The events will take place in the latter months of 2020 and provide professional and aspiring surfers with the opportunity to win prize money and gain momentum going into 2021.
All events are COVID-19 safe and will abide by border closures, but if surfers are legally allowed in that state, then they can compete.
Entries to all events are gauged and based off the 2020 World Surf League (WSL) Qualification Series (QS) rankings.
For NSW surfers there will be contests at Cronulla (Nov 8-9) Kiama (Nov 22-23) Coffs Harbour (Nov 29-30)and Northern Beaches (Dec 13-14)
