A group exhibition by members of the Continuum Art Society is now on exhibition at Hazelhurst Art Centre's Broadhurst Gallery.
Continuum Showcase 2020 is running until September 15 and features the work of 25 artists.
The Continuum Art Society was formed in 1977 by the head of Gymea TAFE's Fine Arts Department, Lucy Hertz, so graduates of the Fine Arts Certificate course could continue to practise and discuss art.
Weekly meetings and workshops began in 1982.
After the Fine Arts faculty at Gymea TAFE closed, the society broadened its membership beyond former TAFE students to practising artists or anyone with an interest in the arts.
The society aims to foster personal artistic development and promote an interest in and understanding of art.
The society meets regularly to discuss matters of interest, hear guest speakers and for practical demonstrations and instruction. They also encourage members to exhibit their work.
The society has had a long association with Hazelhurst. It supported the establishment of the arts centres and galleries, and has participated in gallery events since it opened 20 years ago.
Continuum has held the biennial Showcase exhibition at the gallery since its inauguration in 2000.
This exhibition showcases the work of artists Rob Adams, Clare Brady, Joy Bye, Jean Byrnes, Jean Cappelletto, Doug Chapman, Kathy Curtiss, Helen Dubrovich, Lexia Duncan, Jan Etteridge, Jennifer Gowen, Pamela Luscombe, Jennifer Maclaine-Cross, Janet McCauley, Marivic Mooney, Les Mortimer, Catherine Murphy, Clarissa Regan, Christopher Ridgway, Roberta Robinson, Amy Scully, Kathy Smoker, Pamela Taylor, Brenda Thomas and Michael Warren.
