A Rockdale man has been charged with allegedly assaulting and intimidating a boy, 13, who filmed a brawl which occurred during a soccer game at Carss Park.
The incident took place on an oval at Carss Park about 4.45pm on Saturday July 25.
Police will allege the boy was filming in the crowd after a fight occurred between players on the field, when a man lunged at him and assaulted him.
"The boy suffered scratches to his neck, chest and back," a police statement said.
"Following inquiries, a 51-year-old man was arrested at a home in Rockdale just before 11pm the same day.
"He was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
"The Rockdale man was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Wednesday 16 September 2020)."
