Spring is the perfect time to brighten up the home especially with people spending more time at home than ever before. However, it doesn't have to mean breaking the bank. Samantha Tolley from Addicted to Bargains has some great tips on how to refresh your home on a budget.
1. Add a touch of green
Bring the outdoors in this spring by creating a beautiful oasis of greenery within your home. For your living room, pick a hard-wearing rubber leaf plant or trendy fiddle leaf fig and pair it with a basket or ceramic pot, to add some personality to the space. For the smaller rooms in your home or outdoor spaces, hang your plants. Otherwise pop some smaller succulents in a pretty pot to add colour and style. Plants can instantly transform the mood of a space.
2. Inspire with books
I know a lot of people are really looking forward to the day when they can walk down the aisle of a plane but given we can't travel at the moment, there's nothing better than some inspiring books for the coffee table to revamp your space. Decorating your home with beautiful and visual books can look fabulous and show your passions or give some inspiration to your guests when they visit. I love books on fashion, food and travel to style with.

3. Lighten up
I love a light and bright room and lighting can make or break a room. Lighting and brightening a room can be expensive and near impossible especially when renting. A great alternative to rewiring lighting or replacing fixtures is smart lighting alternatives. Smart lighting products will instantly brighten up or add some warmth to a room. Alternatively, and depending on the space, lamps are a great addition.
4. Wow with white
When styling my home, I love working with neutral colours but white is by far my favourite. Transform and freshen up any room in your home with different shades of white. While painting a space can be time consuming and costly, you can easily makeover a space with white pieces. White goes with everything, it makes a space look bigger and brighter. When styling with white, you can use different sized vases or pots on a table and add some greenery or a beautiful bunch of flowers.
5. Colour through cushions/throws
Add some wow factor to your couch, bed or occasional chair with cushions and throw rugs. My biggest tip is to always look in the clearance/sale section as you may find the perfect piece without spending a fortune. Not only do throws look good but they will also protect your furniture or keep you warm while watching a movie. Mix and match different sized cushions or find a throw with a lot of texture or colour.
