Hurstville Plaza is hosting the Foodies and Farmers' Christmas night Markets during December.
The markets will take place on Friday December 4, 11 and 18, and will be open from 4pm to 10pm.
The markets are part of Georges River Council's COVID-19- Safe event program. COVID-19 safety marshals will be onsite to ensure physical distancing and hygiene practices are followed.
Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene said that the Foodies and Farmers' Christmas night markets, which will have over 30 food stalls, are something the community has been crying out for in Hurstville.
"These markets are going to be the perfect spot to get presents for those hard to buy for family members or friends. It's even a great opportunity to join in the Christmas spirit and have a wander and bite to eat," Councillor Greene said.
"Each week will see a rotating schedule of children's activities including a Santa's workshop craft stall, as well as a range of musical performances.
"There will be a variety of international food stalls, with everything from tapas to paella, ramen burgers, Greek street food, Mexican food, Asian bao buns, Italian street food, and a gourmet haloumi stall.
"And the kids may get an early visit from Santa. I encourage everyone to come along," he said.
Director of the Foodies and Famers Markets, Christina Chakos is looking forward to bringing over 40 years' experience operating Farmers Markets to the Hurstville Christmas Night Markets.
"Our night markets are a great way to catch up with family and friends and enjoy the outdoors and community atmosphere", Ms Chakos said.
Each week's markets will also include artisans selling unique handmade trinkets, jewellery and Christmas gifts.
The line-up of desserts includes artisan gelati, gluten-free hot donuts, handmade Italian cannoli, Dutch poffertjes (pancakes), American-style cookies and more.
There will also be a line-up of produce available with some interesting offerings from a vineyard from the Southern Highlands, a cherry farmer from Young, a Balkan bakery, as well as a local cheese and dairy producer.
