Members of the Oatley 101 Society of Artists have won several major categories in the 2021 Art of Sydney Awards Exhibition which showcases the work of artists from 14 Sydney art societies.
The societies, including Oatley 101 Society of Artists, make up the membership of the Combined Art Societies of Sydney (CASS).
In 2021, due to the Covid-19 restrictions the CASS has chosen to take their Art of Sydney Awards Exhibition online.
For many years members of the CASS have held their Exhibition at a venue at Darling Harbour, this year will be quite a different way to show their artworks to the public.
Paintings in the Exhibition have been judged by well-known artist John Haycraft.
The Oatley 101 Committee announced that four of the seven major art awards for this exhibition have been won by members of the Oatley 101 Society of Artists, including the 'Best in Show' Award that was won by member John Wilson.
Long-time member of the Society David Lake was Winner of the Abstract Section.
He also won First Prize for the Best 9"x 5" Painting and 2nd Prize in the Oil/Acrylic Section.
Local Oatley artist, Trish Bennett, was Winner of the Best Miniature Painting, while 2nd Prize in that Section was awarded to Mara Marston-Boni.

along with the Highly Commended Award won by Julie Brown, and the Commendations that have been awarded to Catherine Harry, Trish Maclachlan, Diana Garth, and Freda Surgenor, plus the Finalists John Wilson, Marlene Weaver, Diana Garth, Narelle Scott, Trish Bennett, Jane Wray and Isabella Kwaitkowski.
