Prime Minister Scott Morrison has shared a glimpse into his past with a photo of him from his school days.
The PM and Federal MP for Cook shared a photo from his school days on his Facebook page last week to mark the start of a new school year.
"Lots of kids will be heading back to school this week, and some will be starting for the first time," he wrote.
"Wishing them all (and their mums and dads) a happy first day."
Mr Morrsion said 2020 was a "really tough year for our children", with the COVID-19 pandemic causing "lots of interruption and uncertainty".
"We still face many more challenges this year but here's hoping 2021 will be a better year," he wrote.
"Good luck also to all those students heading into year 12 and their final year of school."
He shared a "throwback photo of me in my Clovelly Public School uniform back when I was aged around five", he wrote, adding he had "many fond memories of my time at Clovelly".
He also said: "I remember my teachers so well. Mrs Hitchings in K, Miss Gould in 1st class and Mrs O'Connor in 2nd class."
