Georges River is a resilient community. It takes a tremendous effort as a united community, and some good luck to keep the COVID-19 pandemic under control in our community.
Gradually, we are getting used to the restrictions and are finding ways to carry on with life. It is great to see that we all kept the spirit of community and continue to support one another, under uncertain circumstances.
It is timely in the new year for us to get reconnected now even if it is remotely and through the spirit of food.
In February, Georges River Council will bring two upbeat festivals to our neighbourhood - Get Reconnected and In Good Taste.
Get Reconnected offers participants the chance to learn new things or take time for some self-care in the new year.
The festival kicks off with an 8-week adult beginner's yoga online.
For the little ones, throughout the month, we are offering Storytime at the Park in our local area.

In Good Taste is a month-long celebration of food. Sydneysiders will be able to taste their way around the world without leaving the city when Hurstville - the heart of Sydney's south becomes a foodie's paradise.
Sydney's best cuisines will be on show, with indigenous master chef bringing flavours of the First People through bush tucker walks, cooking demonstration and 'Little Lunar' night out to welcome in the year of Ox.

Please make use of the opportunity to reconnect with friends and family, while still looking after each other. We can reconnect and still stay safe.
