Since 1928 St George Randwick Hockey Club has created generations of top hockey players.
And 2021 is no different.
Four of the club's young female hockey players have attained outstanding results on representative teams in just the first half of this year.
Sienna Da Silva, Chelsea Da Silva, Ruby Di Somma and Jana Markopoulos represented the club and the state in representative teams.
Jana represented NSW in the 2021 under 15's Australian National Championship's where the team took home the gold medal.
She said it felt amazing to represent her home state.
"It motivates you to do better than your best on the field," she said.
"It is such a crazy experience, it feels unreal and makes you heart jump with excitement."
Jana said her time with the club had helped to craft her into the player she is today.
"I love how the club is so inclusive and how every one is supporting, guiding and excited for you to succeed," she said.
"The club has made me into the player I am today because of all the time and patience the coaches have shown me and the friendships I have made at the club."
Fellow gold medal winner Sienna Da Silva echoed Jana's sentiments.
"The atmosphere from the club is very inspiring and motivating it's probably my favourite thing about my club," she said.
"Support from my club has definitely inspired me to become the hockey player I am today."
Sienna was on the winning Sydney Metro Academy team at the NSW Championship event.
"Representing Sydney meant a lot to me because I knew every play I made was a step closer to winning the tournament for Sydney," she said.
Club member Chelsea Di Silva said being selected for the 2021 NSW Accelerated Athlete Program made her proud.
"I felt privileged and excited knowing I would have the opportunity to represent my state," she said.
"It was very nerve-wracking at the start but during the competition I felt proud that I had made it to this position and that I was representing my state."
Chelsea said the St George Randwick Hockey Club was like 'one big family'.
"We always support one another in any sporting or life aspects," she said.
"The club has help me believe and push boundaries when it comes to my ability on the field."
NSWCCC under 16 team member and club representative Ruby Di Somma said being chosen for the team had caught her off guard.
"It was exciting and scary at the same time," she said.
"It feels different and definitely more pressure to play your best, but it is an honour and I am grateful and lucky to be able to do so."
Ruby encouraged anyone thinking of paying hockey to consider joining the club.
"The people, friends and individuals I've met along the way, I consider them my family and major support system," she said.
"Through the positivity, guidance and discipline the club has shaped me into being the player I am and my outlook on the sport, pushing me to achieve my best."
The players hope to follow in the foot steps of former St George Randwick junior turned Hockeyroo Greta Hayes.
