
A motorcycle rider has been seriously injured in a crash with a car at Caringbah.
The accident, which occurred about midday today (Wednesday) in Northumberland Road, involved a Honda Civic sedan and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
A police statement said the motorcyclist, a man aged 71, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
He underwent emergency surgery for leg injuries.
Officers from Sutherland Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
The car driver was assisting police with their inquiries.
