Leader photographer Chris Lane took the picture (above) of a near-deserted Shelly Beach, Cronulla mid-morning on Friday.
The Bureau of Meteorology says there is a medium chance of showers continuing into the early afternoon on Friday, with a top temperature of 19C and southerly winds of 20 to 30 km/h, turning southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the evening.
Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a top temperature of 21C.
There is a slight chance of a shower along the coast, with winds southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h.
Sunday's top temperature will again be 21C, with a shower or two forecast.
More showers are expected on Monday.
