* Lockdowns will to continue to be used in Australia's fight against coronavirus outbreaks until at least 70 per cent of people are fully vaccinated.
* Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday announced thresholds to drop restrictions and reopen the nation after a national cabinet meeting with state and territory leaders.
* The dropped restrictions include increasing international passenger arrivals and exempting fully vaccinated people from domestic restrictions.
* The plan states that when 80 per cent of people have been fully vaccinated, city-wide lockdowns are expected to end.
* People who have received both jabs will be allowed to travel overseas and travellers from countries with high vaccination rates will be given the green light to enter. For people to be approved for quarantine-free entry, they will have to be vaccinated with a jab recognised in Australia.
* NSW recorded 170 new locally acquired cases on Friday with at least 52 infectious in the community.
* NSW has 58 COVID-19 patients in intensive care, with 24 ventilated.
* The military is preparing to join NSW Police in the areas worst hit by Sydney's outbreak to ensure residents are complying with tough lockdown restrictions.

* Almost 99 in 100 people attempting to cross the NSW border into Victoria during the latest Delta coronavirus outbreak have had the correct paperwork, fresh police data shows.
* Victorian authorities are hopeful more genomic testing can shed light on how a Melbourne testing site worker caught COVID-19. Initial genomic results have linked the case back to the outbreak at Maribyrnong's Ariele apartment complex sparked by a crew of NSW removalists.
* More than 38,000 Australians stranded overseas have registered to come home as the coronavirus pandemic rages on. The foreign affairs department revealed 4569 on the list of 38,523 people are considered vulnerable.
* Dozens of coronavirus-hit Australian arts organisations will share $40 million in federal funding. Bluesfest, the Adelaide Fringe and Falls Festival are among 82 projects to receive Commonwealth cash.

* There have been 12,005,978 doses administered in the national COVID-19 vaccination rollout up to Thursday, including 210,742 in the previous 24 hours.
* Of the total, 6,790,138 have been administered by the Commonwealth (an increase of 131,704 in the previous 24 hours).
* 6,271,657 have been issued in primary care (+125,977) and 518,481 in aged and disability facilities (+5727).
* 5,215,840 have been administered by the states and territories, including 79,038 in the previous 24 hours.
* 1,610,095 have been administered in Victoria (+19,851), 1,446,995 in NSW (+26,408), 899,059 in Queensland (+11,724), 491,068 in Western Australia (+9493), 383,791 in South Australia (+6096), 161,592 in Tasmania (+1928), 134,095 in the ACT (+2098) and 89,145 in the NT (+1440)
AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:
* Australia reported 174 local cases on Friday, July 30: 170 in NSW, three in Victoria and one in Queensland.
* There were three new overseas-acquired cases: two in NSW and one in Queensland.
* The national death toll is 923: Victoria 820, NSW 67, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 7, SA 4, ACT 3. (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).
