Community groups across the St George and Bayside area will share in a total funding boost of $360,000 to help them to modernise their services.
A total of 12 community groups will receive between $20,000 and $50,000 each which is being provided under the NSW Government's $17 million Social Sector Transformation Fund.
This includes:
St George Community Transport, Mortdale - $20,000
Riverwood Community Centre - $20,000
2Connect Youth and Community, Brighton Le Sands - $20,000
SHARE, Hurstville - $20,000
Shopfront Arts, Carlton - $20,000
Tuberous Sclerosis Australia, Beverly Hills - $50,000
Australian Nutrition Foundation, Hurstville - $20,000
Phoebe House, Arncliffe - $20,000
The Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George, Kogarah - $50,000
Better Connected Community Services, Rockdale - $50,000
Rainbow Club Australia, Brighton Le Sands - $50,000
Australian Macedonian Welfare and Wellbeing NSW, Kogarah - $20,000.
Oatley MP Mark Coure said the funding is designed to modernise the operations of the local community groups through additional and updated technology which will allow these organisations to improve their overall services.
"The past 18 months have been difficult for all members of our broader community and particularly over the past few weeks given the latest restrictions, our community groups have risen to the challenge to assist those who need it most," Mr Coure said.
