It's been the hottest of topics - home and abroad: Australian's COVID-19 vaccination rollout.
Our leaders didn't miss an opportunity to tell the world how triumphantly we dealt with the first stage of the coronavirus pandemic. Then came the next phase.
And then, initially, came very little.
The rollout started almost seven months ago but the government has been forced to dump multiple targets set for itself.
Mid-June Prime Minister Scott Morrison, after multiple nudges, apologised for the bungled rollout.
"I'm sorry that we haven't been able to achieve the marks that we had hoped for at the beginning of this year - of course I am," he said. "But what's more important is that we're totally focused on ensuring that we've been turning this around."
Initially the government wanted to have 4 million people vaccinated by March and the entire country inoculated by October. That has been amended.
But the good news is that as of this week Australia has actually surpassed that 4 million mark. Here's where we stand at August 8.
