A new vaccination clinic in Hurstville will make it easier for St George residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Located at the Hurstville Entertainment Centre at 16 MacMahon Street Hurstville, the centre will be open Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 4.00pm. No need to book - just turn up and get your jab!
Vaccination is clearly the pathway out of our current health crisis which looks set to continue for many more weeks.
I know how frustrated and angry many people are that Georges River Local Government Area is an area of concern, and only authorised works can leave. This is one of the toughest tests our community has ever faced.
At the same time, I am in awe of the way our community has responded to these tough lockdowns restrictions. We have banded together and done the right thing. We are staying home, we are getting tested and we are getting vaccinated.
If you haven't been vaccinated yet, please do so as soon as you can. It is something we should all do - not just for ourselves, but for our family, friends and our neighbours.
Getting vaccinated is the best way to help the taxi drivers who have lost work, the restaurants that can't open, the tradies and labourers stuck at home, the hairdressers, retail workers and hospitality workers who have lost work or hours, for our kids who should be in school, and of course for the frontline workers who are out there every day putting their lives on the line.
When we get to the other side we will face a massive task to rebuild and recover. More financial support will be required from the NSW Government to help get businesses and workers through. And NSW Labor will not let anyone send the recovery bill to those who can least afford it.
But for now, getting vaccinated is the key.
