A medical centre with 10 consulting rooms is proposed for the former Commonwealth Bank site in Gymea.
A development application (DA) has been lodged on behalf of Qualitas Health, the Australian subsidiary of a multinational company, which has more than a dozen similar centres across Sydney.
Qualitas has acquired the 60-year-old Gymea Medical Practice, which is located on Kingsway at the corner of Chapman Street.
The medical centre fitout will include 10 consulting rooms, treatment room and pathology.
- Development application
The company plans to relocate the practice to the two-storey former bank site in Gymea Bay Road in the heart of the shopping strip.
The bank branch was closed without warning two years ago.
The medical centre DA estimates the fitout will cost $500,400 and include 10 consulting rooms, treatment room and pathology.
Proposed hours of operation are 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
There will be provision for 10 GPs, two nurses, a practice manager and three reception staff.
As with the previous use as a bank, there will be no onsite parking.
