St.George-Illawarra fans are throwing their support behind a petition to have the grandstand at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium named after the Immortal Norm Provan.
Provan, who passed away on Wednesday, won 10 successive premierships with St.George from 1956 to 1965. He is immortalised with Arthur Summons on the NRL premiership trophy.
The petition has been set-up by former Kogarah Councillor Lachlan McLean, who led the R2K - Return to Kogarah campaign.
"The Kogarah Jubilee grandstand has never been named after anybody and it would be entirely appropriate for the Immortal Norm Provan to receive this posthumous honour," McLean said.
"I am calling on St.George fans and local residents to sign the petition, which will be presented to Georges River Council."
Georges River Council resumed management of Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in 2017 and it's the home ground of the St.George-Illawarra Dragons and Sydney FC.
