The Labor and Liberal parties have endorsed their candidates for Georges River Council election on December 4.
Labor's candidates are all current councillors.
Georges River Council mayor Kevin Greene is standing again for Labor in Peakhurst Ward.
In Hurstville Ward, the Labor candidate is Councillor Colleen Symington, replacing long-term Councillor Vince Badalati.
Cr Symington ran number two on Cr Greene's ticket in Peakhurst Ward at the last council election.
In Kogarah Bay Ward, Labor is represented by Councillor Nick Katris, a former Kogarah councilor who moved to Georges River following the council amalgamation.
In Blakehurst Ward, Cr Kathryn Landsberry has been endorsed for Labor. Like Cr Katris, Cr Landsberry was a long-term councillor on the former Kogarah Council`
In Mortdale Ward, Labor will be represented by Cr Warren Tegg.
The Liberal Party has also endorsed its candidates for Georges River Council.
The Liberal team has three current councillors and two new faces.
In Blakehurst Ward, the Liberal Party is represented by Councillor Sam Elmir, a former deputy mayor of Georges RIver Council and a former councillor with Kogarah Council.
In Kogarah Bay Ward, Sam Stratikopoulos is standing for the Liberal Party. Mr Stratikopoulos was also a councillor with the former Kogarah Council.
Nick Smerdely is representing the Liberals in Mortdale Ward.
Currently Georges River Councillor Lou Konjarski is standing for the Liberals in Peakhurst Ward, and Councillor Nancy Liu in Hurstville Ward.
Speaking for the Liberal Party team, Councillor Sam Elmir said, "We look forward to engaging and hearing the views of the Georges River community and over the coming weeks will outline our team's vision with a clear focus on delivering outcomes and services and community expects."
Registrations for nominations of candidates open with the NSW Electoral Commission on Monday and close on November 4.
The election was due to be held in September, 2020 but was postponed a year due to COVID and then for a further three months due to the second lockdown.
