Design duo Heather and Sarah of Oak and Orange have revealed their latest project, the Coastal Farmhouse.
It combines a modern coastal palette with traditional farmhouse design elements for the ultimate family haven.
Set on an 890 square metre parcel of land in a quiet rural suburb on the outskirts of Sydney, the clever floorplan will suit modern families with large open-plan living highlighted by a pool and superb alfresco dining pavilion.
No strangers to a large construction project, Heather and Sarah, together with their builder husbands, have built more than 20 houses during the past decade.
The coastal farmhouse is an original Oak and Orange design, built on a new block, bringing together the simplicity of country living with the raw beauty of the coast.
You are presented with an impressive entryway with a small set of steps leading to a cosy verandah, which instantly creates a warm farmhouse appeal.
Co-founder Heather, whose style can be described as light, earthy and organic says: "We love to design homes that are beautiful and comfortable for families to live in.
"That's why it's important to factor in a low maintenance design to create a family sanctuary for everyday living, not just like a magazine showpiece," Heather says.
Throughout the home, Oak and Orange have embraced soft and neutral tones with hints of green.
The palette reflects the natural surroundings of the local bush. The spacious home pairs crisp white and sage cabinetry with gold and wood accents throughout.
"We like to take inspiration from the surrounds, this home is located on the outskirts of Sydney in a semi-rural setting.
"Given it's a new build we were adamant we wanted to add elements that made it feel more cosy and homely," Sarah says.
At the heart of this design plan is the open-plan kitchen - modern yet comfortable and relaxed - it features old world rustic charm with new clean lines.
This is achieved through the team's use of their signature sage green with fresh white and timber accents combined with low maintenance, yet high quality Westinghouse appliances.
The kitchen island allows family and guests to congregate in what is truly and entertainer's paradise.
It features necessities like a freestanding dishwasher and built-in dual bins.
The butler's panty is large enough to accommodate a family favourite 609 litre French door fridge and has oodles of shelving for all manner of appliances, spices, containers, pots, pans and recipe items.
Bi-fold doors behind the island open to reveal a stunning wine storage station complete with wine fridge and glasses shelving.
There is also the integrated multi-function pyrolytic duo oven framed by almost floor to ceiling cabinetry for even more storage.
"We love the touch-of-a-button self-cleaning oven feature and chose matte dark stainless finishes over gloss, as they're easier to clean and fit in perfectly with the vision we had for the kitchen," says Sarah.
"It's not a dream home unless it's low maintenance and easy to clean leaving you more time to spend with your loved ones."
