THE Liberals will be atop the ballot paper in two of the five northern beaches wards at the upcoming NSW Local Government elections on December 4.
The ballot paper draw was completed on Thursday after a lengthy delay due to technical errors on the state electoral website. As the delay continued, NSW Electoral Commission officials allowed council draws to happen in an alphabetical order, with the Northern Beaches Council draw getting underway at 2pm, which was four hours after its allocated start time.
The Liberals will top the ballot paper in the Frenchs Forest and Manly wards, with Labor on top in Curl Curl, The Greens in Pittwater, and Your Northern Beaches Independent Team in Narrabeen.
Cr Stuart Sprott is the only sitting councillor to be in a party that topped the ballot paper, he is in the Frenchs Forest ward.
