The Michael Tynan Challenge Walk to Work event was launched this week with a morning tea at Caringbah.
Business people and some walk participants gathered with Madeline Tynan to discuss this year's event over a cuppa and a cake.
The Michael Tynan Challenge will be holding its 2021 Walk to Work event on December 7 from 6am.
Ms Tynan said local businesses would join together and walk from Tynan Motors Kirrawee to Cronulla RSL before starting work at 9am.
"During these unprecedented times, we have had to pivot around the restrictions from our annual 26km Coastal Walk and bring it local," she said.
"Participants will be walking past Sutherland Hospital at 7am for the Hospital Staff changeover, allowing us to say thanks for those who have put themselves at the front line every day, but especially these past two years."
Money raised will be going back into our local medical research between:
SSMRF - St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation
ANSTO - Australian Nuclear Science and Technology
UOW - University of Wollongong
Ms Tynan thanked Major sponsors of the event that include:
