At least 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19 are associated with a funeral at Wanda Surf Club or the following wake at Highfield Caringbah hotel on Thursday November 18.
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District issued an alert for the venues on Friday afternoon.
The statement said the district's Public Health Unit considered that everyone who attended the funeral or wake was a close contact and should get tested as soon as possible and isolate in accordance with NSW self-isolation guidelines.
"Everyone who attended the funeral or the wake is asked to get tested, even if they are fully vaccinated or do not have any symptoms," the statement said.
