Raffle prize home is back
IF you missed out on nabbing 314 Whale Beach Road, Palm Beach when it sold in December 2020, this is your chance to add the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home to your portfolio.
The tri-level property, which has expansive views over the Pacific Ocean was bought by the Queensland RSL Art Union to be used as a prize in its ubiquitous art raffle. The RSL Art Union spruced up the property with stylish furniture, which can be purchased for an additional $135,000 if you don't have the time to furnish it yourself.
The winner of the prize had a choice between this spectacular home or a property on the Gold Coast. They chose the latter and so the RSL Art Union has now put this one back on the market. No one has lived in the home for the past year.
It's scheduled for auction on December 22 through Noel Nicholson of Ray White Prestige Palm Beach with a guide of $6.2 million.
Flying high in Manly
QANTAS pilot Adam Smith and his wife Liz have lived in their resort-style apartment at 404/54-68 West Esplanade, Manly for 14 years. The jetsetting couple are now winging it to Queensland so they are putting their two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the market. With stunning harbour views, it's in the heart of Manly and a stone's throw from the ferry. "We love the beach, the nearby restaurants and the access to the city," says Adam. "We've had plenty of candlelit dinners on the balcony, and watching some of the evening storms come in is amazing. There is a pool, gym, bbq area and an on-site building manager. There is a real village feel about it because the building has a bunch of like-minded people who really see themselves as a community who look out for each other."
The unit will be auctioned on December 18 through David Murphy with a guide of $3.5 million.
Holiday feel for Freshie family
THE five-bedroom, two-bathroom property at 92 Wyuna Avenue, Freshwater has been home to Jenni Wills and her husband David for the past 20 years. They've raised their two daughters there, now aged 18 and 20. With multiple living areas, it has a mezzanine with a parents' retreat.
Jenni, who used to work in environmental science, says: "My favourite spot to sit in summer is the big glassed area with the day bed. I also love the Balinese hut out the back because it's completely removed from the house and has a real holiday feel. When we have friends over, the kids can play in the pool while the parents are nearby in the hut."
Jenni also loves the proximity to amenities. "It's two minutes' walk to the nearby shops where there is a fruit shop, butcher, pharmacy, fish and chips and more. It's 12 minutes to the main shops in Freshie and 15 minutes' walk to the beach."
The home is up for auction on December 18 through Mike Dunn of Clarke & Humel with a guide of $3.5 million.
