MICHAEL Regan has been re-elected as the mayor of Northern Beaches Council, during the first meeting of the LGA's new councillors.
Two nominations were put forward for the role - Regan and first-time councillor Bianca Crvelin.
The vote was held in council chambers on Wednesday and Regan won nine votes to six.
Regan heads the Your Northern Beaches Independent Team and five fellow YNB members, who got a seat on council at this month's local election, were among those to vote for him.
Councillors who voted for Regan included: Candy Bingham (Good for Manly), Michael Gencher (YNB), Kristyn Glanville (Greens), Sarah Grattan (YNB), Sue Heins (YNB), Miranda Korzy (Greens), Jose Menano-Pires (YNB), Ruth Robins (YNB) and Regan.
Those who voted for Liberals councillor Crvelin included: Rory Amon (LIB), Vincent De Luca (IND), Georgia Ryburn (LIB), Stuart Sprott (LIB), David Walton (LIB) and Crvelin.
This will be Regan's second term as mayor of NBC after it was formed in 2017 when Pittwater, Warringah and Manly councils amalgamated.
Regan will remain in the role until September 2024.
The role of deputy mayor was also voted on during Wednesday's meeting, with Cr Bingham the only one to nominate. She was re-elected unopposed. Bingham will remain in the role until September 2022.
