An Engadine woman, 23, accused of hitting a cyclist while driving at Helensburgh, will face court next month.
Officers said Brendan Braid, 58, was hit by a car as he rode his bike south on the Old Princes Highway about 6.15am on January 5. (See related story: http://www.theleader.com.au/story/2034054/cyclist-fatalities-on-the-increase/?cs=12
He was found injured by other cyclists a short time later.
Paramedics treated Mr Braid for suspected fractures before being taken to St George Hospital.
Wollongong police launched an investigation and charged a woman last night with negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm, failing to stop and assisting after a vehicle impact caused grievous bodily harm.
The woman was granted conditional bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court on February 18
