A charity golf day has raised $25,000 for a Sutherland Shire-based organisation which helps victims of domestic violence.
The Family Co. hosted its inaugural charity golf day at Sharks at Kareela on May 23.
Chief executive Ashleigh Daines thanked the more than 70 people who attended the event and helped raise $25,000.
She said the money would be used to fund additional support programs and a part-time caseworker to help the charity respond to increased demand for family assistance and domestic violence support.
Ms Daines thanked the community for its support.
"The way in which so many local businesses supported us, through their willingness to sponsor us, participate, or just donate, was very humbling," she said.
"There were many groups for whom this occasion was their first encounter with our service, but their awareness of the issue of domestic violence, empathy for the work we do and willingness to support was overwhelming."
The event was the first held by the organisation since COVID and the first since it launched its new name in April.
The charity was formerly known as Sutherland Shire Family Services.
Ms Daines thanked Sharks at Kareela, Aliro Group's TripleTwoNine project, Martinus and BRC Lifts, hole sponsors and businesses that entered teams and participated on the day.
Aliro Group is behind the development of the former Toyota site at Caringbah.
Fund manager and chief delivery officer Andrzej Masztak said: "Aliro Group recognises the importance of The Family Co's work with children and young families and our alignment with their vision of supporting the local community by enhancing their ability to be safe, have strong connections and thrive in life".
