Sutherland Shire has a purple glow on the COVID vaccination map, with more than 80 per cent of adult residents in every area having had their first jab.
The figure is higher, 90%+, in the Oyster Bay, Como-Jannali, Engadine and Gymea areas, and two-thirds of adults in the first three of those areas are fully vaccinated.

- 2225 (Caravan Head /Oyster Bay): Received first dose 90%+; fully vaccinated 60-69%.
- 2226 (Bonnet Bay / Como / Jannali): Received first dose 90%+; fully vaccinated 60-69%.
- 2227 (Gymea area): Received first dose 90%+; fully vaccinated 50-59%.
- 2228 (Miranda area): Received first dose 80-89%; fully vaccinated 50-59%.
- 2229 (Caringbah area): Received first dose 80-89%; fully vaccinated 50-59%.
- 2230 (Cronulla / Bundeena): Received first dose 80-89%; fully vaccinated 50-59%.
- 2231 (Kurnell): Received first dose 80-89%; fully vaccinated 40-49%.
- 2232 (Kareela / Sutherland / Woronora / Loftus): Received first dose 80-89%; fully vaccinated 50-59%.
- 2233 (Engadine / Heathcote / Waterfall): Received first dose 90%+; fully vaccinated 60-69%.
- 2234 (Menai area): Received first dose 80-89%; fully vaccinated 50-59%.
There were 169 active COVID cases in the shire on September 13.
